Helvetia Cider Company
About
Mark and Donna Grossen established Helvetia Cider Company with their son and Cidermaker, Jonathan. The cidery is located in Helvetia, a small unincorporated community in Washington County, just north of Hillsboro, Oregon. Its name, the Latin word for “Little Switzerland”, is inherited from the region settled by Swiss immigrants in the 19th century. The Grossen family also owns and operates a third-generation farm, where their great-grandfather first made hard cider in 1891. Helvetia launched in 2019 with their first release, Sun of a Peach, using fruit from their U-Pick peach farm.
Helvetia has focused on making ciders that reflect the flavors of Pacific Northwest orchards. Fine craftsmanship and age-old traditions combine to curate an extraordinary range of hard ciders. Sun of a Peach and Blueberry ciders are available in 16-oz cans year-round and in small batches, like Mittenberger Heritage Dry Cider and Dark Cherry, in 750ml bottles. Both are also available in draught formats.
